Muna Abboud has been creating bridal gowns, custom business attire and formal wear for more than 30 years. While she's designed countless wedding gowns for brides all over the country, she also specializes in dressing Nashville society for big events like the Swan and Symphony Balls, or even a visit to the White House. And she doesn't always stop with evening wear, clients sometimes ask her to design their entire wardrobes!
She was inducted in the Tennessee State Museum's Costume & Textile Institue in 2008, and in 2015, she was bestowed the Nashville Fashion Forward Legacy Award, an honor given to deigners who have helped put Nashville on the map.
The Design Process
"I do things that will last forever, that you could wear as long as it fits you. One of my clients wore a dress that I designed for her in 1994 and then, sixteen years later, she wore the custom gown to the Swan Ball and still looked fabulous. This is what I love about my dresses. Any time you wear them, they don't look dated." ~ Muna Abboud
She has a knack for creating dresses that perfectly compliment each client's figure, and before she starts working on a design, she makes sure she knows "what each client wants to be." Answers, she says, range from, "I want to be over the top" to "I want to disappear."
So starting with the client's needs, Muna listens, advises, then designs to make her clients look their absolute best.
